Sinbad Angel Wing Begonias sports small-to-medium sized leaves with silvery, pebbled surfaces on a light green background. Angel Wing Begonias produce hanging clusters (much like grapes) of delicate flowers in red, white, orange, or pink. The intensity of the color of the flowers and leaves depends upon how much light the plant gets.
The Sinbad Angel Wing Plant is one of the houseplants sold by American Legacies, LLC., in order to help support the storage and publishing of all the LEGACIES and memories sent to us.
These plants are currently only sold via flea market booths which are also used to advertise and promote American Legacies, LLC., and U.S. Legacies Organizations, as well as recruit volunteers to help type, edit and proofread information for use on our websites.

Light Angel Wing Begonias like bright indirect light but no direct sun. Proper light helps the leaves and flowers develop a more intense color. Insufficient light causes the plant to become leggy and prevents flowering. When light is too intense, the edges of the leaves curl and turn brown.
Water Be careful not to over-water! If the plant is in a small pot, allow the top 1” of soil to dry out before watering. In a larger pot, allow the top 2”-3” of soil to dry out.
Angel Wing Begonia containers must have drip holes in the bottom for proper drainage and the plant should never sit in water. When over-watered, the leaves turn yellow and fall off.
Fertilizer Apply every 1 to 2 months. To prevent leaf burn, feed begonias when the soil is damp and always dilute the food to 1/2 the recommended strength.
Temperature 65 to 74 degrees F is the preferred temperature, but they can tolerate 55 degrees without damage. As with all begonias, they do not like cold drafts and cannot tolerate freezing.
Humidity: Average (25% or more) humidity is recommended.
Common Problems: If leaf loss is excessive, reduce the watering frequency.
Soil Begonias grow best in well-drained, humus-rich soil
Repotting Repot yearly in spring. Move to a slightly larger pot each year. Add pebbles or broken pot shards in the pot to aid in drainage.
Pests Aphids and mealybugs are the biggest pest problems with Angel Wing Begonias
Disease Some varieties of Angel Wing are susceptible to the fungal disease powdery mildew. To treat, spray the infected plants with a fungicide (including neem oil, sulfur, lime-sulfur, or potassium bicarbonate). Avoid overhead watering and space/prune plants for good airflow to reduce humidity.
Remember not to compost any infected plant as the wind can carry this fungus to healthy plants.
Also watch for root rot, stem rot and botrytis while the days are short. These problems are usually associated with wet or humid conditions. You can prevent them by allowing the plant to dry out between waterings, allowing for good airflow in your greenhouse, and spacing to allow the sun to penetrate to the soil level.
The most common chemicals used to treat botrytis are Medallion and Banrot. Use them as a drench according to each label’s instructions.
